Per the GM order info the display will replace the dash storage box.

The info also said it would replace the A pillar boost gauge.

If you have do not order the display you get the storage compartment and the a pillar gauge just as the 08 had.

While the dash mount is not my first choice it is much better than the GPS add on look of the pillar mount.

I have only seen the SEMA unit so I am not sure if they have changed the final look of the unit since SEMA. They may have a better cover for it by the time it reaches the dealers?

I hope that there is an easy way to remove and replace the unit since as others have said it looks like a GPS. In my area GPS units are getting stolen and ripped out of cars via a smashed window. This is happening at an alarming rate and I would hate for those of you that get it to constantly be replacing your drivers side window and performance display.

It looks like it faces straight ahead. I would rather it be at an angle towards the driver to make viewing/adjusting easier. Not sure how I feel about it. I like the unit and what it does, but I am not digging the look right now.

I've read some of the previous discussion about this and I want to finally put in some comments. I personally would not get this. It seems pretty useless, in my opinion. I would prefer to have the storage unit with cover as opposed to this on top of the dash. As SPPD noted someone might mistake this for something else and try to rip it out. It would have been nicer to design this into the storage area lid so that when the lid is open the screen folds out and is visible. I wanted to do a custom nav/dvd screen in this manner but was told that the cost would be pretty high and I don't really have the time or experience to try and fab something myself.

What else is new?

The pod is no suprise as it is the same as the SEMA HHR had just with out the leather covering.

My question is where is the screen for the back up camera going to be placed. It is available in Sept.

Maybe in the rearview mirror, as many other manufacturers are doing? Not a bad idea, although I haven't driven a car with one and not sure how it looks, how well it works, how bothersome it might be ...

I like it think it looks more like a factory install and not a last minute add on
