well, I was going to do a long write up then I searched......

I had this problem the day we left for NYC. My car ran so bad 1/4 mile from my house and all kinds of dash lights and messages we had to take my wife pos honda odyssey that just threw a transmission 2 weeks before and had a newly created front end vibration because the dealer rammed the lug nuts on so hard they warped the rotors.......

So it sucked. I took the HHR in, they got the codes and reproduced the problem on accident, found the TSB and all is well.

I love my HHR again and the honda is getting traded on something else, don't know what yet.

Also glad I found this thread because it got me reading and I found the TSB to fix my sunroof rattle!

Is it just me, or are there too many problems with the SS's that make it not worth anyones trouble to get one?

I had the Service ESC issue a number of times last month. My Power Steering went out each time. FIrst it was a fuse that blew; got that fixed and a few days later same issue; fuse again replaced as well as the power steering module; few days later same again and this time they found a short that caused the fuse to blow in the first place; since that time I didn't have more issues; all was covered under warranty and I still love driving the car!

Mine rattles a ton. I love the car but question if I will keep it the 4 years as intended. My brother bet me I couldn't keep it 4 years. He may be right.

Hmmmm.... This one came back to haunt me again last night. Driving along slowly on a city street in Madison at about 25 mph and got the dreaded "Service Electronic Stability" message. It came on 3 more times during that 100 mile trip before I got home. All seems normal today, but will call the dealer on Monday.

I ran my scanner on it, and it stored the P2138 TPS/Pedal positon Sensor error again. With 42K mi. on the car now I am wondering if this will be covered under warranty? I feel it should as the dealer worked on this exact same issue only 5 months ago!

Might be you. It certainly is not me, as I have 12988 troublefree miles on my SS and about 4000 miles since the GM Turbo Upgrade kit installed. It's been to the Adirondack Mountains of NY twice and Florida once.

I think that most people post their problems here, since they are incidents that they want to share with the group. What would be the use of someone like me telling everyone that mine has had no problems?

CarlSS' post in April 2008 and his current low speed road experience reminded me of a similar problem I had on my 2006 Z06. Of course, when it happens on an Z06, the manual says to stop and flat bed the vehicle to a dealer. Turns out that wiring harness weakness near the base of the steering column problem creeps up in C6's quite a bit. Dealer swapped out the harness connectors and the problem went away for ever. An endemic Chevy problem maybe?
