You will fail without a CAT because I'm assuming the guideline for smog in Cali is strict. Just get the DP with the CAT from HAHN. I did.

You will fail in Cali if you not only not have a Cat but the correct cat for your vehickle. CARB changed Cat rules this year.

What good is it to pass the siffer if you can't pass the visual?

Failed is failed. Un less if you are in Cali and it is the death penalty.

i planing to cut my exhaust pipe behind the first cat, placing a flange and angle bum fitting for the c02 sensor, another flange for the 3" exhaust, making all look like factory,
so if it fails i simply put back the second cat and sensor back in place using the flange connection. should pass visual, dont know about how much the second cat effects smog limits, i been told the second cat just burns unburnt gasses.

You're most likely going to fail the visual. Smog techs have exhaust and smog systems diagrams for every vehicle which they reference if there's any doubt about what they're looking at.

I wouldn't do anything in Kalifornia except move to another state. If I was stuck there, I'd have a pre-1975 hot rod.
