I would not discount the SS all together.

Keep in mind that most post on the web are are the exception vs the rule. Seldom do people post if they are not having any problem.

The brake issue was the only wide spread one. Even then only a few people had it happen often for most of us only had it happen a time or two over a six month to 1 year period.

Either way they look now to have the fix on line and the brake issue should be resolved soon for all.

As for myself The SS so far has been the most trouble free and solid new vehicle I have had in a long time. I have had few bad cars and this one is even better than the many others I have had since I picked it up.

So please don't get the wrong idea by the different post here about any of the problems on the SS. Keep in mind this is more or less a place for the few people who do have issues to vent, share or look for help. Even then most are not all that upset as much just sharing if they did have an issue so other would know.

Just keep in mind the majority of SS owners are very happy and have either not had an issue or a minor one if they have.

I would buy one in a heartbeat. No fears of the brakes or any other issues and I would add the Stage Kit. We rarely see an SS with a major problem and have yet to do any interior engine or transmission repairs.

Besides.its a starting issue, not a driving one.If anyone has ever had a real brake issue its not because of this,I think some people are confusing this with actual brake failure, instead of failure of the booster to maintain vacuum, over extended engine off time.

In many cases, this defect IS a real and critical safety issue that makes for dangerous driving conditions. Thankfully, it sounds like the right fix is (finally) almost available.

Hope you get it soon, I'm really tired of arguing with the dealer. They really hate to see me come in, and always say, "NOTHING NEW." Will be great to put something in black and white in front of them.

My service mgr let me know on Fri that TAC called and they re shipping me a bracket and gave him a bullitin with all the part numbers to regular order. By the end of the week, I should have the brake issue corrected. At that point I'll post the bullitin. I only got to this point because I called TAC for the concern. FYI

Finally got someone in complaining of this issue today. We are doing the Stage 1 upgrade too. Looks like we'll be on the phone with TAC.

I have had the issue since day 1.........I like the car, and I usually just either remote start or wait a minute or so........I had them flash it at the 1st service, no change........
I am a Volunteer Fire Fighter/Rescuer, but I don't normally do any Home Response anymore.........At 1:00 AM this morning, I was in bed and I heard a Car go by really flying low..........then I heard a squeel and a huge thump!!
I jumped out of bed got dressed and ran to the car started it and took off.......The wreck was 2 blocks from my house.............as I approached
I stepped on the Brake...........OH SH*T!!! on the floor!!! BOTH FEET as hard as I could push! I slid across the intersection, but managed to get it stopped without hitting anything..........There was 2 people trapped in a Honda that missed a turn and struck a Light Pole......... This is embarassing to say the least!!
We need the fix soon!!

The fix is here. Go see your dealer. You might want to call the service manager first.
