I owned a puke green k-car. I paid $250 for it .. drove it for 2 years and only put a $30 muffler on it, I didnt even change the oil .. then I sold it for $300... 8 years later i saw the same car on the road.. I knew it was the one because it still had the same bumper sticker on it.

 

Heel and toe shifting is for driving on the track, not drag racing. You use that technique to brake, downshift, and rev match all at the same time. I notice the the HHR SS pedal setup makes it somewhat hard to do that. Then again I'm used to driver a Civic SI that had thick aluminum pedals, very easy to heel toe. However, HHR SS is still faster!!

 

Companys don't worry too much about heal to toe anymore as so few know how to drive a manual let along know how to heal and toe.

Also they like not to get the pedals too close anymore because of to many people stepping on the gas vs the brake. Liability fears has killed many a good thing.

 

HHR SS auto and I get 22-24 here in Albuquerque to/from work with about half via interstate.

Interstate only on long drives around 36 mph unless I want to do some explosive passing.
