The turb isn't getting cooled from a running radiator fan. It is getting cooled by engine oil... which means when the engine turns off, it's getting no oil circulation. For a turbo motor, the "ideal" cooling method would be to let the motor run at idle for a few minutes after you get where you're going, and THEN turn off the motor... at which point the fans ought to continue running... but for the purpose of cooling the motor itself.

Looks Good, Have you noticed any engine noise or heat increase or reduction in it since the install, or is it too early to tell yet?

It has decreased the engine noise somewhat, as far as heat goes I haven't noted any decrease in boost or engine performance. Coolant temp has remained fairly consistent.

Missing part???

I just got a silver ss and when i opened the hood and noticed that there is no underhood blanket/insulator attached. Mine is just bare metal but there are a few holes in the middle that look like something attaches to them( like those plastic plugs, etc). Does anyone here have and knowledge of this. I am eager to hear your responses. Hopefully this is just how they are or I will be going to the dealer to request my missing part(s)! Thanks.

Check these threads. No hood liner comes on the SS.

Maybe a Mod could merge this and the others into one.
