In this day and age, woody's should always have liners.

Missing Hood Insulation?

I noticed that the under side of my hood is bare, no insulation and assumed this was normal. At a car show this past weekend however and all other HHRs had insulation, including another 09 SS.

Question - is this true for everyone else or is it something I should be talking to my dealer about?

Merged with older thread. Read on!

My 2008 SS doesn't have the insulation either.

Thanks Hillsdale, guess I a normal (or maybe I should say, I'm the same - normal is yet to be determined). Odd the SS next to me had one - apparently he is abnormal.

Chevy leaves off the pad for a reason. Remember how hot Turbo's get and under hood compartments can get if you keep in the heat.

The electronics also will take a crap much earlier in high temps.

Was also a fit issue according to GM Performance engineer. I asked at a Cobalt Meet during a Cobalt SS presentation.
