SS in the snow?
Picked up my '08 HHR SS in a snow storm. Drove really slow(lots of traffic) and the snow was gone the next day. I had an '06 HHR 2LT before and really had no probs. I've been driving front wheelers for a while now and they do don't compare to rear wheel or 4 wheel...you just have to get used to it. You know... braking and starting. Anytime there is a large snowfall I don't think it makes a difference. Just be smart and play safe...a learning process.
I received mine in early March in Cleveland, OH. I have plenty of snowy driving and it is an Excellent car in the snow, IMO. I traded in a 2001 VW Jetta 2.0 FWD (with decent tires) and the HHR gets around better! I was shocked!
Needless to say I am Happy with it!

I took delivery of my SS on Mar. 28th., the day we got aprox. 6" of fresh snow. I was impressed at how well it held the road. You had to feather the throttle in 1st and 2nd of course with all that power!
It's not going to plow thru drifts like my Tahoe of course, but it is heavy enough to do well for a front wheel drive winter car.
I plan on getting a second set of rims and tires, maybe some 16s with something with more of an all season snow tire for next winter. I hate to put these nice 18" rims thru the snow/salt!

We had lots of snow this past winter, and I for one am finally going to surrender my factory Firestones for something more rugged this winter. I did okay until the snow got up around a foot, then I had some problems on my hands.
