SS Wheels/Tires for Winter - HELP Needed
I have a 2009 HHR SS with all the body moldings. The tires are SO low to the ground that I have no clearance in snow. And not very good traction either - can't even get out of my driveway some days.
I replaced the original tires the first winter, and they were better. But still not adequate. At the time they told me those were all I could get that would fit.
I would rather have all season tires BUT really need more under clearance and better traction. If that means snow tires, that's what I'll have to do. Right now there are some rebates on Goodyear tires but I'm confused about which tires would fit my car.
Any help is appreciated!

Brembo or non? If not, I would get a set of 16" stock steel HHR rims from private party or from a scrap yard, and get some winter tires on those. Definitely a cheaper way to go, than getting winter tread on 18" rims.
You are limited to a 26 inch overall diameter just like all the other HHR models...... Your SS sits lower because of the springs, not the tires. Unfortunately there's not much you can do about the ground clearance.
Here is a tire size calculator you can use to try to find a size that is as close to that 26 inches as possible. LINK>>> Tire size calculator
