Stage kit installed, plus new shift boot

Hi all! Long time lurker, since before I bought my SS last year. Finally have something worth posting.

Just got my SS back from Connell Chevrolet in Costa Mesa, CA. I brought it to them in the morning, and they had it done by 5PM. Had the stage kit installed, plus that duct update, and had the tires rotated. They seem to be good guys. I had them do work on the Corvette years back and was always pleased, so if you're looking for a place in SoCal to go...

Anyhow, the stage kit is pretty awesome. Money well spent. I only ever saw 15psi on my gauge until going home last night. Actually saw 23 pounds. Pulls really hard in second gear. It's all the tires can do to hold on to the road. Hats off to the Chevy Performance group for making me like my HHR even more.

And lastly, Jaime at augerresources.com made their first HHR shift boot for my SS. Alcantara black with red stitching. It's awesome. :) The pics on their site are of my boot:

I like that shift boot - was it easy to install?

And keep enjoying your stage kit - I've got the Superchips tune which is pretty similar, and you're right, 2nd gear pulls very hard and the car scrambles for traction. It's a lot of fun having over 300ft/lb torque

Yeah, easy cheasy. They have installation instructions on their website.

I'm now wondering if it would be worth it to drop in a K&N, since there is a lot more air flowing through the intake?

Yeah, just the drivers seat. Limited slip and the fancy upgraded stereo too (which is amazing).

That is a nice installation. Coming from a Benz you've got certain quality standards that must be met we see.

Hahahha, indeed. I love Alcantara! I've heard that the Mercs use it. :)
