Stage T map still hitting AC compressor. Why?
Stage T map still hitting AC compressor. Why?
I am still having the T map hit the AC under heavy acceleration. Since they replaced my intake tube the Stage T map is hitting the AC line or compressor and it pops the waste gate.
Any ideas on how to move it away.
The engine torques the back and it pulls the tube up and into the compressor or line where it bolts in.
I have a piece of roll bar passing on the tube and it has made it better but it will still do it only from a dead stop now.

When I first had the Stage kit installed I had the same problem - took a week to get it working correctly. But what they told me they did to correct the issue was to adjust the entire air intake system.
I just spoke to Bill at GM Performance Division [HPVO]. He gave me 4 things to have the dealer check.
We think since my intercooler had been replaced they have it adjusted back farther than the stock locations. He said we may be able to space it forward.
First we are going to make sure the the tube is on all the way on the intercooler. He also said if the MAP did not hit the radiator we can make it fit 180 degress in the tube.
The key is the location of the intercooler after my accident is what I think is playing havoc. We need just a little more clearance.
Bills was a big help. He even mentioned you in a very good way!!!!

hyperv6, Of course I didn't measure the distance from pump to sensor but just guessing I would say there is at least an inch maybe more. It has to be the pipe is not on correctly.
And I have nothing but good thoughts on Bill and his help here too.

I still think the intercooler is just relocarted back a fraction of an inch and it is closing the space down between them.
I think we will check the hose first to see if we can move it to gain space.
If we have the space spinning the sensor 180 may be the best idea or moving the intercooler out with fender washers if moving the hose did not fix it.
I remember seeing someone post once that said there was a lot of wasted space in the SS nose. If there is I wish they would show me where. LOL
Bill called me back I think he had my broken intake tube from last week. He had one and wanted my vin to see if it was the one. I was impressed he was fllowing up on that. He was very helpful! These are the people the public need to know about and why we need GM.
I feel bad for my dealer as they have done a good job but they are running into just dumb luck things that are not of their doing.
