Since you've already removed the old shaft, you should be able to tell if the u-joint is sloppy.

The ends have ALSO been changed.

As there has been incorrect information in posts I attached from an internet search , to remove that misguiding information, I have remove those posts.

For future readers, the intermediate steering shaft for the LS, 1LT, 2LT models are not interchangeable with the SS models 2008 thru 2010.
I have verified the GM part numbers with 2 GM parts department managers , I have known and dealt with for 35 years.

I have updated the Common parts number list

STEERING - INTERMEDIATE SHAFT KIT - courtesy of Oldblue
- GM - 25834100 - 3 piece shaft kit, including the two universals LS/LT ONLY
- GM - 25943354 - SS GM has DISCONTINUED THIS PART!

Post #39. I wonder if the 2 parts can be disassembled, and the piece from the old can be installed on the new?

I reopened post #2 , I didn’t lie to you, sir! Just conveyed information.
You have not confirmed the LCA part numbers you installed, in post #14 you state the LCA’s are not GM !
you are seemingly here to cause trouble and haven’t confirmed anything.

good bye!

No, I was skeptical, so I went and checked the GMpartsdirect website also. They did claim that it fit.

Just checked again. If you start your search with an HHR SS, then drill down to find the part, it gives you the correct part number(25943354).

If you start with the part number(25834100), then ask if it fits your SS, it says yes, it fits.

I like wholesalegmpartsonline.com . A little harder to get to the diagram I want, but a lot of information given in the description, once you get there.

Thank you for confirmation RJ . I thought I was losing my mind, thought I had posted wrong information , but there it is .

For future readers, the SS intermediate steering shaft is discontinued.
