I doubt it... I can usually hit 100 on the entrance ramp... hell today I wrapped it to 145 with my BIL.

Not true... I've done it MANY times on my sportbikes. They usually grossly under estimate the speed. I use to wave at the cops at 140. Further, with the new digital transition, many cities run different "frequencies".

But can't that get programmed out with Trifecta?

A tune can program out your top speed limiter, but it all comes down to trans gearing, fuel injectors and fuel pump. I learned my GTOs injectors/pump cant keep up past around 168mph, even though I still had plenty of gear left.

As a sidenote, I've gotten the SS up to the 125-129ish range and I let off because it stopped feeling stable. My nearly 4000lb GTO stops feeling stable and getting very light in the front end at around 165, I can't imagine how a slab sided car at 700lbs lighter would feel at that speed. Let alone the fact that all the weight is being transferred off the drive wheels. I honestly wouldn't trust the SS at anything over 155 anyway.

And here was the GTO on it's way to that top speed:

Had mine at 140mph a few days back. Had quite a head wind...to the point it was making my antenna start smacking the sun roof; so I let off. It looked like I was in the high 5k rpm range, so it had a little room left, but not a ton.

On the way home from the dealer I pegged it past 140 for a few seconds I'm pretty sure...but I was going 140+ in a car I had just bought...so I was more concerned with making sure I didn't hit anything than I was with the speedo's exact location.

I have the GMS1 and a 5spd, in case anyone wanted to know. No other mods that I'm aware of performance wise.

I've been over 130 MPH in mine.
It had plenty left when I had to shut down.

I remember reading here or in an online review that HHR's are aerodynamically limited to ~155 MPH - YSMV

I'd say they are plenty fast with stg1. I haven't been late cause my car was so slow since I got it. Going to do Trifecta just for more!
