Towing HHR with manual tranny
A quick search with the SEARCH tool at the top of the page looking for 'flat towing manual'- gave a few threads, including auto trans - ie: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/gene...rive-hhr-7648/
Most of the info here came from the owners manual - so do a double check in your manual as well.

Welcome to the site.
Yes you can. You will also need to remove fuse number 8 in the inside fuse box because you have to have the steering wheel unlocked.
Pulling the fuse will keep the battery from going dead with the key in and the wheel unlocked.
I installed a switch that turns of the fuse so all I have to do is unlock the wheel put the car in neutral and flip the switch and it's ready to go.
I would also recommend a brake system for your towed vehicle.
I like the brake buddy system. I have towed the hhr out west without a brake system.
After I burned up the brakes in the motor home going down into bullhead city NV I decided to buy a brake system for the towed vehicle.
