Where about in Tennessee, I live in Alabama close to the TN border. Also the Tennessee cobalt's that are on CobaltSS.net have a meet coming up July 10th in Nashville (if thats your thing), last meet I went to in April had over 60 cars.

Just caught you moved to Knoxville (helps to read all the threads), maybe I'll stop in and say hi 1 day. I go up through there to go white water rafting, Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. They are suppose to be having a meet in Knoxville some time soon.

Hi, didn't realize another member here was so close I live down the road in Athens.

In your case loading backwards probably won't affect much...but what you didn't consider was..al the weight is now on the rear of the trailer, trying to lever up the front hitch...not good for sway control or braking....remember, I said in your case it is probably ok(size and weight of truck being loaded and such),,,but others trying this will be in for a few surprises...so beware....first time you do a heavy brake and the trailer tries to pick up the rear of the tow vehicle is an eye opener....

That would be fantastic, we are 25 miles from Piegon Forge and about 35 from Gatlingburg...let me know when I'll PM you address and phone number.

Holy smokes! You know the weight trasfer never crossed my mind, but in my ignorance I did have the back of the SS loaded down pretty good. I only had to really get on the brakes once and did not notice any jack-knifing or lifting-off. Honestly, I didn't even think about it with everything else going on. Its a little nerve wracking to now know that I was flirting with disaster!

An HHR with the back loaded would be okay.... big truck pulling helped too..... you lucked out on that. I've seen (felt) this lifting first hand and it's some scary stuff. (12 foot double axle U-Haul behind my '79 impala....... Yeah, scary indeed)

Take the SS into the smokies and have some fun... I have gone down to that area many times with my motorcycle and the roads are just awesome. I'm pretty sure it would be a blast with the SS too.

Thanks Pitbull! Yes, Yes, Yes our little cars love the twisty ups and downs. the road leading into Gatlinburg through Smoky Mountain National Park is almost a rollercoaster. We love it, although my wife keeps grabbing for the non-existing Oh Sh@# handle above the window.

This last time I was in KY, I drove the Boy's Lexus to his folks house (Western KY) -- besides being gorgeous country, I loved all the twists and turns and was thinking how I'd dig taking my baby on those roads--don't have an SS, but these cars do love the twisty's.

Sorry for the thread hijack, but this is making me more sure I will pay to ship the car out there!
