Under the Hood questions...are you ready for this???

looking under the hood tonight I have made some observations and need some questions answered. I have noticed that the ECM has the two plastic levers on the top (LS & RS) and when you left the lever, part of the electrics slide out (to release the ECM), I would imagine. Well the LS lever does not seem to seat properly and click on the two very small tabs, one on each side. In fact the plastic part that starts to slide out vertically is not completely flush with the housing, like it is on the RS. My question, is this a major concern with this style of ECM? Previous vehicles that I had were not set up this way.

Next on the list is the Air Box lid, is it just me or are the torx srcews a real PIA to screw back in, you would think you were closing a safe or something, what a workout. Anyone else have a similar complication with this???

Since the Turbo engine is all new to me, everyone seems to be talking about the T-bolt clamps for the turbo pipe, especially on the Sky & Solstice forums. I went over what clamps I could find, and they were tight, but I did come across a T-bolt clamp towards the firewall, I presume that the hose connected to it comes from the turbo???

thanks for any info..............................

don't know about the ECM. i totally agree on the air box lid screws though...took off the lid just to see what it looked like in tehre, and was a total workout putting them back in, took twice as long to get em in as it did getting them out! and as far as the clamps and stuff go...haven't had time to investigate in all of that, and i'm new to turbos as well, so my knowledge is very limited too

I found out the same thing with the air box lid and I simply changed them out with some bolts from HD (10-24 1.25" with washer and a wingnut on the bottom. Three fit perfect, the other three I had to cut the one of the wings off with a hacksaw.

This might be too much work for you, but when I almost stripped one of the OEM screws, I knew I had to do something about it...

Don't know about the ECM...
