What is the red connector on the steering wheel control?

I tried swapping LT/2LT button module and harness into the SS. Everything works but I don't have a horn now.

I'm wondering if I need to patch into the red wire with the small connector?

The ss harness has the red connector. The LT/2LT has the black connector. Both have a black with white stripe wire. Ss has a dark brown wire next to the black/white and LT has a beige wire.

the blue main connector that goes into the steering wheel on the ss is dark brown...and the LT is beige.

Im 99% sure I can just tap the the wires but I want to ask first.

The other thing I noticed was that the ss has 2 white/black wires

.

.

1. Why are you replacing this harness/button module ?

2. Why are you using parts from a different model and not the correct parts ?

Tan and black are SS horn. .Brown and black are LT/LS. Black is signal ground in both cases. LT/LS has 2 black. Tan and brown are relay control.
In other words; the horn button connects ground to the coils side of the relay.

Got no idea about the red connector, airbags usually are yellow.

The old buttons are all worn off.

Because the main blue middle plug has the same wiring and I knew it would work!

I guess I will hook up the old buttons and harness and do some voltage testing to see what I get before just tapping?

So basically I can just tap the wires in and it should be fine? The red connector is just the ss fancy connector. You can see the base model black connector next to it.

I forgot it's just a low amperage wire that tells the relay to work.

I remember wiring up a $5 12v relay oddly to get the horn button to trigger an electric air horn in my LT
