I'll agree with that, but my biggest gripe is the blind spot the rear-view mirror creates. I thought my Ranger held the title for that one. I have to squint under it when going around a right turn.

Also, like all cars, if I have the steering wheel set low the way I like it, the top of it blocks my view of the speedometer.

We need a new car but that one is off the table. Besides the thought of having to take care of 2 HHR's would be too much for me. It would use up the whole 20min a week I have now for rest and relaxation.
I believe I'd get a new Wife............After all, you live in Ca. and that seems to be no problem out there......LOL....WW

After a couple weeks

I have decided I hate the shift knob on the 5-speed SS. After a day of driving the stitching or something has irritated my palm...has anybody put on one of the Momo shifters? A good reason to modify...right?

It really needs a 6th gear and a decent place to put my sunglasses. That's my .02 worth after 675 miles.

HHR Bummer Things

1. I can NOT see the mph if the sun is in the sky from morning til after noon-total glare. That's not going to work as an excuse if I get pulled over! Officer, I just can't see how fast I'm going 'exactly'. So now I'm forced to buy a dash mat and then I'm going to have to extend a little 1 inch visor over the edge to give it some shade. Anyone else notice this?
2. Shallow glove compartment fits like one tampon
3. No handles for my dad to hold onto when I'm driving
4. Once you take out the plastic shelf for the 'trunk' and use it as a shelf the under spot is oddly shaped and not conducive to storage
5. Only 3 drink holders
6. Doors are hard to close properly even though they seemed shut
7. No vanity mirror lights

How about why in the world did they use gray for the A and B pillars and headliner? It's the only dang gray thing in the car! I mean the C pillars aren't even gray. They are black like they should be!

Also, it's no match for a shopping cart.

I have to agree with HMSTitanic's #4. While I was packing up everything for our trip to Kings Island, I put the "shelf" up where it was suppose to go thinking I would have more storage room, boy was I wrong. I ended up taking the "shelf" all the way out and putting it up in the garage. Come to think about it, I think it's still out cause I never put it back in and I don't think DH put it back in either.

We plan on going to Disney World in 2009 and it is going to be really interesting with 5 people and all that we are going to need to fit in the back along with a stroller for the youngest.

You know, I am sure we are going to be up against this same struggle when the four of us need to travel together at the same time with this rig.

I don't know if yours has the roof rails or not Mrs. Z., but I plan on picking up the soft-pack luggage container that straps up top. It does suck as far as gas mileage is concerned, but thought about looking into some kind of angled deflector to put on the leading edge up there to take the brunt of the wind and bugs!
