Okay.... I guess my last thread was deleted. Is it okay to ask what fuel is a good alternative to the 93 octane sold at the green and white gas station which is in the news?

in the north here, Shell V power is good gas, however it does contain alot of "cleaners" and does result in lower gas mileage similar to if you poured some techron Fuel cleaner in the tank.

Wow - Gulf isn't even on that list. Is it that bad?

I've always used Sunoco since it is readily available at reasonable prices in my area. But Ultra 94 is no more. It's been 93 for some years now.

I like using it better than some of the no-name stations around here.

I pretty much run Chevron exclusively and Shell here and there. With my Turbo Regal and GTO, I would occasionally get a slight misfire on Shell. You could really hear it at idle. A buddy's 05 M3 did the same thing. He actually had it at the dealer and they tried to fix it but in the end BMW said to stop running Shell even though it was a recommended brand. He went with Chevron and the problem went away. Not a clue what was going on.

I have run Shell in SS and haven't had the issue. I haven't tried Arco, Union, BP or any off brands yet.

All the gasoline comes out of the same pipelines. Anyone who believes otherwise can check out the beachfront property I'm selling in Arizona. The only difference is the additive / detergent package exclusive to individual brands, which is added at the distribution level. The "tiers" of fuel are largely a myth propagated by the so-called "tier one" suppliers and cosigned by Detroit. I use 3 Oz/10 gal of Lucas fuel treatment, so I just shop price.

Yup, where the difference lies is the issue.
