Winter Wheels + TPMS
In order to program the TPMS (sensors) follow the procedure in the owners manual. It's pretty easy. I have done it twice. Once when I put on aftermarket wheels and tires and last week when I remounted the steel wheels and tires.
Here's a summary of the procedure.
Turn the ignition key to the on position, but don't start the car. Press at the same time, the lock and unlock buttons on the key fob, wait for the horn to beep. Then starting with the drivers front wheel, release air until the horn beeps. Once the horn beeps that sensor is programmed. Next move to the passenger front, passenger rear and last the drivers rear following the same procedure. when the last tire is programmed, the horn will beep twice.
Check your tire pressure and you are done.

It will take you 2:00 or less to reset.
I installed my winter wheels and tires over the weekend for the first time. I bought a set of used 16" HHR steel wheels and struggled over what to do about TPMS. I decided to go with a set from this eBay seller. He has a tab that allows you to make him an offer. My offer of $40 for the set of 4 was accepted which is a great deal for these sensors. I installed the wheels with the sensors for the first time and the sensors immediately started reading the tire pressure. I then programed them per the manual and they are working as they should. I am happy. G.B.
