I love my 2000 Trans Am. It's not flawless and I honestly don't think the OP expects it to be but you do get sick of the problems.

My car spent at least 12 days in the shop last year. It stranded me once and almost a few other times.

My HHR was in the shop more in it's first 5 months than my wifes Prius has been in 5 months an 7K miles.

I was holding out for a Volt, but since mh HHR isn't worth crap I'm stuck with it. When it goes, it certainly will NOT be replaced with another GM. I have had enough GM crap to last me a lifetime. They had to buy my Saab back a few years ago.

Now I know you will at all cost defend GM and thats fine. I have done my friggin best to be loyal to GM, and gotten little back but 1 good car.
Unfortunately there is a reason some cars are recommended by independents like consumer reports et al. Not many GM or Chrysler....Ford is looking good.....I bought this POS cause it was one of the only recommended cars and I got a $4500 discount, 0% over 5 years and $1500 in GM Points....but unfortunately even their recommended car is not working well enough for me to buy another. Now the competition is great and the Big 3 don't have a stranglehold. Just remember, everyone liked the Big 3 cause at a time they were the best and made the best....other than Ford right now.....they don't. Simply enough that is why more people buy Subaru's and Hyundais. Three GM dealers here in London were cut by GM and they are now Hyundai/Toyota and Nissan Dealerships. We have more Toyota/Hyundai and Nissan dealers in London then GM. I also don't feel one bit bad for GM, or if I buy a Toyota. At least the car is made in Canada, heck my HHR is made in Mexico....no support for workers there either. There is a Toyota plant (Rav 4) 30 mins from my city and employ a lot of people that show up for work or they are fired. An old neighbour of mine works at Ford in St Thomas that is closing next year and I feel bad for him, but he would go days on end without showing up for work and they could never fire him.......not suprised it eventually worked out this way. I used to think that I should stay loyal and support CAW and UAW, but it so far past that nowadays....it is simply find the best car for the best price.....no more compromising
