I did this mod today, VERY easy. Took about 30 minutes. This thread was very helpful to get the knob off, https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show...remove+shifter

I'm loving how this looks!

$115

You have to buy the whole shifter assembly, you can't just get the parts you need. I could have gotten it cheaper on-line, but I got a buddy at a dealer. No shipping=cheaper!

yeah thats the only downfall is that you do have to buy the whole assembly. But you can do what I did and sell it on ebay. I got $80 for mine plus shipping make my total for this mod right around $60.

09 Shifter Assy works on 07

I got my 09 shifter today.
I also decided to replace the entire shifter instead of the easy way noted above.
Why?
When I took my shifter bezel off and found some spilled soda some food and some rust on the componets...oh and some chocolate.
All this time I thought I kept a pretty clean interrior.

To replace the entire shifter remove the 4 mounting nuts. Dissconect the drive cable (snaps off) remove the lighting plug wire.

** Note the mounting bolts will drop down flush from the shifter when you remove the nuts. Youll need a long screw driver to get under the heads and push them back up to get the nuts back on.**

The only thing I had to transfer over from the old unit was the chrome bezel.

BTW: The iPhone fits nice in the added slot next to the shifter.

Cheers !
