For the Newbies..... A suggestion, be sure the parts are for your year HHR, it appears they differ from the o6 - 07

So, did we come to a conclusion that these are the correct part #'s for a 2007?

15281577- Bezel

15234343- harness

15942446- switch

If someone can confirm these, that would be great.
I do have a 07 Orange Metallic with ebony interior as well.

Not sure many 2007 owners have done this mod. You might want to PM member oneton, I know he has done it. Not sure he checks the boards every day, so it could be he hasn't seen this either.

For those future 2008 Owners that want to do this mod, check the part numbers. In the rental I drove the buttons are different in how they are made, the buttons have bevels on the top and bottom edge.

I have tried TWO 15234343 harness's and neither worked, no DIC, no cruise, no radio control, nothing. Had to splice my severed old harness back together to get the left side working again. Mine is 2007 with 15942446, 15234337 switch and cover. After ordering the second harness, my dealer parts guy says you can't order 15234343 without ordering the whole steering wheel??? something is screwed up in the manual or numbering system somewhere.

The wire harness that you have will work what you have to do is move two wires because there is a early production and late production most 07 are late production. on the radio side of the harness you need to move wire from slot 1 to 4 & 4 to 1. ON THE HARNESS just swap them a black wire with a white tracer & a blue wire. Look at the harness on one side you can see holes that show you the wire locks, take a pin and just push down on the lock a little as you pull out the wire. do the same on the other one. swap wires and push back in the same way it came out with lock tap up. try to pull wire out if it just slide out look at lock tab and just pull up a little so when you push it back in it will catch in the hole that you pushed it down in OK take a drink of whatever you need.

On the cruise side same thing, But you can look at your old harness and move the wires to the same slots on the new harness as the old. Just be sure your looking at both harness from the same side with little holes up. install the new harness and it will work.

Why GM did this I have no clue???? Just to see if TECH are thinking or just to mess with them/us

If you want PM your # and I will give you a call to help you through it.

I wish I had a scanner I could scan the wire diag. and post it
