Yes, Don. I have read all the pages. (As a test, just ask me a question from any of them.) I used the instructions for my replacement a year ago.

It would appear that I got the old style, then, although supposedly redesigned in 2015. (I guess someone unloaded their old stock on me.)

You know there are still folks on-line selling the OEM for $50 and up? The Stant can be had for about 13 USD. But if it's still garbage, that's no bargain at all.

Is that 12T103D the latest iteration?

To my eye it looks right Stant 14698 claims to be a replacement. 12622410 also looks right, that is a Saab/Chevy p/n. 131-158 also looks right.

I don't know when it was re designed, but I know that the one I took out of my 2011 in 2012 was the new kind. That's when I became aware of the difference.

There has been a lot of p/n consolidating going on, so it's hard to tell without eye contact. There have been a lot of 190F t-stats getting sold by GM lately, too. I don't trust parts books anymore.

I know without re reading the whole thread that "get OEM because the center gasket is a problem" was mentioned several times.

I'm sorry to be beating this dead horse to death. (Wait, how can you do this?)

So which is the latest or best one: The 12T103D or the 131-158? One of the other moderators seems to favour the 131-158.

ZZP has this

Ecotec Parts Ecotec Thermostat

There is this from Amazon

https://www.amazon.ca/Genuine-126224.../dp/B00GUHB8MG

Or the AC Delco

https://www.amazon.ca/ACDelco-131-15.../dp/B000IZ25VY

I've recommended the ZZP at $14.99 many times!

Well, the one from ZZ Top is cheap, but I've also heard negative things about Motorad.

As Doctor Smith would say, "The pain, the pain".

Be careful. The housing is soft pot metal and easy to strip.

OK, am I stepping into the same cow pie again?

Did I manage to buy someone's old stock? It would appear it was made in March of this year.
