Then maybe one should do a little research for a Cleaner Product that would do the job safely.
The can of carb cleaner should have the Bad Ingredients listed as a guide to work with.
For what the damage can be should certainly justify some serious time to check this issue out first.
Lots of products are on the market to take a look at.

We will have our ideas and opinions, so let’s just leave it at that.
Thank you.

Thank you for that consideration. And I won't stir matters much more. I would only add one other piece of information...If contrary ideas and opinions lurk about the condition of the rear main seal (e.g., my conclusion was incorrect and it was caused by something else like old age), I might add that other "brand new" topside (i.e., valve cover area) seals that were installed after the blasting job, displayed similar degradation. They were exposed to the fumes of the chemical for several days while the job was finished and finally broke down when the engine was started.

In any case, we all are entitled to our ideas and opinions. I have zero doubt about what happened in this matter and some (not all) in other forums and conversations have confirmed/agreed with my conclusions based on their similar experiences with carb cleaner. And I merely wanted to share with anyone else who may stroll by the How-To article, so they could be fully informed about the risks. Knowledge is power and the passerby then has to judge for themselves about the knowledge shared with them.
