About to be new, Ontatio, Canada

Howdy from London, Ontario. I just purchased an ailing 2006 LT, from a small dealer in Ingersol, Ont. today. It has 178,000 kms on it, runs ok, and everything seems to work, I paid $2,100. for it and traded my 2002 PT Cruiser. I will get it next week after the safety and e-test have been done. It is black with grey interior, car proof came bacl c;ear and i know that isn't any guarantee of much buit it is something.
Now about me, I am a 58 yr old, married male with 6 children, none in jail or likely to end up there, 5 grandchildren, none in jail and we will see about the rest. I run a small handy-man service and the cruiser, owes me nothing, it has been a reliable companion, but it is time to move on. I had been looking for an HHR for awhile now, ever since i had spotted one ( a 2008 cargo version that looked and drove well, I was impressed, but by the time the "War Dept" consented to me buying another vehicle, it was gone.
I came accross this site while researching and have been trolling for a few weeks, i apologize, I have learned quite a few things from here and realise I know even less about things than I care to let the kids know. The car will be a project to get back to decent shape, then maybe I will play, any advice is greatly appreciated, and welcomed. I have some skills, and do now know, how to change my blinker fluid........... anyways I will post pics and become a regular pain in the a.. shortly, just wanted to say hi and stop lurking in the background, hate that creepy feeling... so cheers to all

It is official !!!!!

Howdy from the Great White North ( sort of ). Well boys and girls at 5pm eastern time I officially entered the fracas, the beast has been safetied and e-tested, deemed by the powers that be road worthy. I am now the proud owner of one 2006 LT, beat-up black with filthy grey cloth interior and only 178,000 kms. Man this puppy is going to take a poop load of tlc, to get back to presentable. It kinda sucks because work has been absolutely crazy lately, and the trailer at the lake has taken a back seat for a couple of weeks, due to everyday life getting in the way and this weekend is shaping up to be no different. Tomorrow we are taking our dogs to Pawlooza, one of the largest dog gatherings in north america. We have 2 chinese crested dogs. Pawlooza is sort of a dog show, dog circus, little bit of everything with the emphasis on highlighting dog rescue organizations. The show is held at the Plunkit Estate in London, Ont. and all proceeds go to charity. The owner keeps nothing for himself. He also does a car show each spring and it has grown into a can't miss extravangaza, each year getting bigger and better. Anyways enough on the nonsense, guess I am going to start by giving the beast, a wheels up cleaning so I can get a better idea of what I have gotten myself into, at least mechanically it's 100% everything seems to work, it floats down the highway and does purr like a growly kitten. I am very pleased and although I did like my 2002 Pt Cruiser, I don't regret this move. I will keep up dating and now..................
