Bought my first HHR, this forum is rad!

Hi all,

I'm Kyle from MN, and I just purchased a 2009 Black HHR LT. So far, I fricken' love it. I look forward to customizing it and maintaining it, talking with you all about the cars here, etc. Any tips off the bat for a new HHR driver? The car has 49, XXX miles on her. I fell in love with these cars because they remind me of old school hearses, and I love all things spooky.

Anyway, I look forward to chatting with you all about the cars and whatnot! Cheers,

K

My HHR has the Ecoboost, I believe it's called. I was wondering, is it recommended to put E85 in the tank every fill up? Every other fill up? Or not at all? Thanks for the warm welcome!

Well, HHR's all have Ecotec motors. Ecoboost is a Ford thing

E85 is an alternative fuel that is cheaper typically, but also doesn't get you as far from what I have read. I run 87 in mine and can net around 500miles in a tank. You do your thing, and decide for yourself. :)

Do you know if your HHR is a 1LT or 2LT?

Hmm, I see. I'll stick to 87, then. I'd rather get all I can in a fill up! I don't know, is there a way I can tell? Thanks!

Oh, with a little research, I found out that my HHR is a 1LT!

Gotcha! Glad you like it. Does it have a 5sp, or is it an Auto?

It's an Auto, I almost bought a manual during my search, but some worker at the dealer had claimed it. What kind of HHR do you drive? Looking at my window sticker, it says 2LT Preferred Equipment Group. I guess I was wrong, makes it a 2LT. Nooby mistake.

No biggy! But that makes your motor Bigger! You have the 2.4L Ecotec instead of the 2.2L Ecotec in the LS and 1LT's! Lucky dawg!

I have a 2008 Shadow Edition (1LT) 5sp, somewhat customized. Take a look at my photos (click the camera under my profile at left) if you want for some inspiration! I do highly recommend Depo Headlights, and IPCW Bermuda Black Tailights! Well worth the money and definitely a cool upgrade for a 20's-30's guy, which I am guessing you are!
