Dog Trainer - Searching for HHR

Hey all... I am on the hunt for a new vehicle. Was looking at a Ford E150 utility truck as it has tons of room, but may be too much for me, and too poor on gas. I then started considering HHRs. I will need to be able to fit 2, MAX 3 crates in the back of the car, and be able to beat the car up a bit. I am a dog trainer, and will only use the car for work purposes.

With the back seats down, It seems like the car is extremely spacious. Do you think I'd be able to fit 2 crates side by side, and then another one sideways RIGHT behind the front seats?

As far as maintenance goes on these things, how do they do over 100k? I am decently handy in the garage, and can follow youtube instructions well when it comes to repairs and maintenance. What are the major issues with HHRs to be aware of, prior to buying? thanks!

Don't know how big your crates are, so hard to say if they'll fit. (tried a Google search for Max 3 dog crate and got nothing)
My opinion. If you're looking to carry 3 crates and animals, get a bigger vehicle. Even if you could fit them in a HHR you wouldn't have any leftover space for supplies, etc.
