Hey guys,
Hate to bring a post back up from the dead but after many searches I never found an SS back then. I ended up trading the Malibu for a Kia Soul about 2 years ago. I do enjoy driving it but I'm very sad at the lack of aftermarket parts for it.
I think I am going to be on the hunt for an SS again but so far none that strikes my fancy in my area. Most of them even close to what I want is 500+ miles away which just isnt doable. I'll keep looking though. Even after all these years I still love the way the SS's look.

you should buy the one you want and pay to have it shipped to you, or make it a road trip and have a friend drive your Kia back for you, or if its far enough fly there and drive the SS home, either those options or wait a long time for an SS that might never come along! There are some that pop up for sale on the site now and then

After some hunting I found one Victory Red one less than 100 miles from me with about 60K miles on it. a 2008
Cars.com link
Is there any advantage in getting a newer model? 09/10 SS? I would like one with the Red/Black interior but The only few I found were pretty far away.

In October I bought a loaded black '09 SS Auto with 10,833 miles for $17,300.
I think $21,000 is too stiff. However car markets seem high in certain areas.
I love mine. If you can find a Panel go for it. That is what I wanted but as you said they are very hard to find.
Originally I went to look at an '08 with 151,000 miles for $9,900. I would have completely rebuilt the engine. The '09 SS I bought ($17,300) had come in a day or two before and I popped on it.
I hate to sell my '08 Panel but I think I'll have to. I am car and insurance poor. I would sell for $9000 if I decide to sell it.
98,700 Miles and runs like a itop.
Mods:
Added rear seat,
Added HHR script to doors,
Chevrolet script on hood,
Large Chevrolet script on rear hatch,
Small Chevy Script on dash,
Running boards,
Full moons,
Hood scoop,
Upper and lower custom billet grilles,
Sunroof,
Exterior Sun visor,
Exterior window visors,
Converted backup lights to tail lights,
Installed backup lights in bumper,
Painted rear bowtie red,
Removed rear windshield wiper
Just a quick update.. I spoke /w the local dealer about the Black 09 SS auto.. The owner has currently been driving it and of course lives out of town.. He said it will be back to the dealer on Saturday but the original ad listing for it they wanted $22K for it with 10K miles on it and now it has about 20K on it.. KBB says it should be around 21K in excellent condition so Im hoping I can talk them down some but i want to check it out first for sure.

I'm finding pricing much better now. Back then I think they were just way to proud of it.
I found one at CarMax in Florida. 2010 SS Manual - They want 14K for it and only 42K miles on it. If they do good on the trade i may go ahead and see about ordering it so they will ship it up to Atlanta.
I gotta take a few mods off my soul and take it back to factory first though.
