I wanted something sporty to drive so I started looking for a sport cars (2 seater) then I decided I didn't want that for my daily driver, that's when I remembered the Chevy HHR, so I did an online search and what I found was my favorite Chevy dealer had a 2009 2LT, so I went and bought it.
Well the first time my dad saw it he also fell in love with it and wanted one just like it so that's when the wheels in my head started turning and the search was on for a SS with the solid rear quarter (AA5) or a full panel with the rear seat. Thanks to searchtemptest.com I found the AA5 but it was in Detroit, Mi and I'm just outside of St. Louis, Mo (550 miles apart).
So the phone calls and texting started, then I told my dad rather than look for one just like mine why didn't he just buy mine and he thought that sound like the way to go. So just 6 weeks after buying the 2LT I was on my way to the airport headed to Detroit to make the deal.
Plane left STL at 9am by noon I was the proud new owner of a Black 2009 HHR SS AA5 with 72000 miles on it in like new condition, by 10:30 pm I was back home. The only change that had been made to it was a Pioneer in dash DVD/Bluetooth stereo, I have since added a backup camera and the dual horns.
I believe this SS is one of only 35 (1.5%) that left the factory equipped with the roof cross rails, it also came with the original window sticker.
