New guy from New Jersey

Just got a 2011 LT about four weeks ago. Trying to find a decent and cheap car in this market is crazy but I was able to find one with 145K miles that only needed tires and sway bar end links and fix a dodgey repair to the the return fuel line under the tank.

Of course it did not come with a remote so I bought one from my local locksmith and had them program it. It would not program until the tech realized that you can only have four remotes and as soon as he cleared all the old ones he was able to program mine.

It needs some interior cosmetics like the waterfall is peeling and the turn signal switch, passenger window swithch on the drivers side does not work and the mirror switch does not work so they will all be replaced.

I made a run to Harry's U pull it in Hazleton PA as they had six HHRs in the yard. I ended up getting 3 black dash waterfalls (I'll be selling two) and two cargo covers, I will use one for a shelf while the one in the car stays where it is ignore the mess in the photo as I'm trying different organization ideas. (I'll be selling the spare) I also got the storage compartment behind the seats, the covers on mine are broken. I also got a set of fog light inserts as one of mine is missing and I'm thinking of using a set for a custom LED fog light set up.

The PO decided that they would spend $500.00 on a stereo rather than tires, all four were different, so I picked up a set of Malibu 17" rims and new tires the rims need help so my plan is to have them refurbed in the winter when I change out to snow tires on the OG steel rims.

And of course it needs a good clean.

You found the intelligent tech! The rest of them give up when thinking or reading gets involved.

Thanks. I've cleaned the switches in the past but the new ones are so cheap that I just get the them and keep the OEM in reserve. I've already done the turn switch and window switches but haven't gotten to the mirror switches as I just got them.

Listening to stereo music while driving is very enjoyable, just like listening to a concert. By the way, what kind of brake pad do you have?

Welcome!

Very often, radios are replace because the owner failed to recognize that the absence of sound was due to bad speakers. With the base speakers, all 4 door speakers are likely to fail eventually. Replacement with even the cheapest 6-1/2" aftermarket speakers is an upgrade.

LOL, I have no idea. Apparently not paying attention. I get drowsy after a good dinner. Maybe I was welcoming him, who may or may not have been actually banned at the time of my comment. Prolly not him, as I failed to notice his post had nothing to do with the thread. Prolly the OP, who I now notice is no longer a "new guy."

Was just being nice. Will need to be more careful about that.
