New HHR Owner

My name is Matthew. My wife, Jorena, and I just bought a 2011 HHR last Wednesday. We've been wanting one for a while and finally traded the 2006 Chevy truck in for it.

Perhaps some brief information about my wife and me is in order. We'll be married 5 years this comming Sept. 25th. We both work full time and I'm going to school part time to finish my bachelors in general business.

I found the site this past Sunday and finally joined. I have some mods planned for our HHR, but it may take a while as the funds aren't currently available. I hope to learn alot from this forum!

Welcome aboard lots of info available here.
If funds are not available In my opinion one of the best mods is the three bar grille mod
costs about $10.00 or so to do just some time.

Thanks for the warm welcome. As for changes, I'm not really planning on much. My wife and I really only have 3 things in mind: Black floor mats (not really a modification I guess), a hood ornament, and different rims.

When I have some time, I'll post a current photo of the car.

For floor mats I can't recommend the Weathertech mats highly enough, they fit perfectly and cover every square inch of the carpet in the foot wells. Yeah, they are a bit expensive, but places like Auto Anything put them on sale frequently.

For your new rims, the important things to remember are the HHR bolt pattern of 5 X 110mm, and the offset of 38-40mm. Plus you're limited to a maximum overall tire diameter of 26 inches, any larger and they will start rubbing on the front strut's spring perches.

Thanks for the info. I can't login at work (regulations and such), but I can look at the site during my downtime so I'll be checking out the info. So far I'm very impressed with the amount of information.

As for the floor mats, Jorena wants black carpet. I'll take look at the Weathertech (personally I'm indifferent type, I just don't want the light grey that are in there right now).

Rims, I'm looking at smoothies. I'll check the topics you guys have on this subject and post some thoughts and ideas there and see what feedback I can get.

As for other mods, we'll have to see. As it is, the rims are probably a year off (have to reshingle my roof first which we're in the middle of saving money for material for).
