Hmm. Not sure. It was about 8-9 years ago when I did the seat lowering. Take a look in my photo album. There's a few pictures of the work being done.
Here's a straight link to my album. https://www.chevyhhr.net/g/album/8368413

Ah ha, I see now. Had to go check mine out again to compare. I'm I seeing that right, does the same bracket you made go all the way to the passenger side? Or were you just showing the difference in hight between the two?

The original seat mount bar is a single bar for both front seats. I cut the section out from the drivers side. Left the passenger side as it was. The new drivers side bar I made overlaps the original passenger side so they share the 2 bolt mounts that are in the middle (under the console)
Also had to grind off some metal from the front hooks where the seat mounts to the floor board. This was so the seat could lean down to the new bars lower mounting point.
The big yellow lines show the new and old bar and how much they overlap.

A little note.
Before I started this mod and cut up the original seat bar, I went to my local wrecking yard and got a spare bar. If my mod didn't work out, I wanted to be able to put it back to stock.
All years and models of the HHR use the same seat bar so finding a spare was easy.
I payed $20 for the bar and the mounting bolts from a local yard.
