Thanks everyone for the welcome...I know there are a few other SS's here in the Anchorage area but don't know who they are or if they are member's of this forum. Yes, this is a beautiful place to live but the winters are long. It's nice to pretty much count on snow for Christmas. I lived in Del Rio, Texas before moving up here; was stationed at Laughlin AFB from 1987 til late 1989.

Went to the dealer today to see if my Stage 1 kit had arrived but it hasn't; probably by next Tuesday or Wed.

Hi Dave,

Hope you like the HHR. I too reside in Alaska and have a red 2008 HHR SS with the stage kit. YoThe stage kit is definitly worth it. I do have the lack of boost on the brakes as reported else where in this forum. Thinking about taking it in for reapir. Enjoy.

Alan

Yes I am in Anchorage. Also have a 2006 HHR LT the better half drives. It has a few dents I hope to repair soon. Do you think there is enough interest for an Alaskan HHR club?

I believe there would be. My wife and I are members of the Midnight Sun Street Rod Association (MSSRA) and show our cars all the time. Unfortunately my back has been giving me troubles the past week and a half and I've been laid up. Taking Percocet and Valium for the pain which means I can't drive

Still waiting for my stage I kit to arrive. Hopefully Alaska Sales & Service knows how to install it correctly.

Bought my stage kit from AK sales but they said I would have to take the car to Wasilla location to have it installed. Something about their tech was out there. I was not thrillled with that idea. Contacted Chev of South Anchorage and they have a corvette tech who installed mine with no issues.

My Stage Kit arrived today and my wife is taking it in to Alaska Sales & Service to have it installed tomorrow. Supposedly the accessories mechanic is going to do it. They didn't say anything about having to take it to Wasilla or Chevy of South Anchorage so we'll see what happens. All I can say is they better not screw it up!
