I think I might have been the original poster on this about 8 months ago (not looking for accolades). But I do have some additional info......

These tires were being tested also in the hot weather of Phoenix, at the nearby Volkswagen Testing Center. One of the problems that was encountered, at that time, was "panic braking" with non ABS vehicles. The "tire" actually was collapsing to the rim, in severe emergency stops. With ABS and under the same testing situations, the vehicle would shimmy severely. The tire people were not happy with those results. That was about 3-4 years ago, so that problem may have been resolved.

It is a TWEEL!

Here is something that was posted over a year ago, before they actually made the prototypes.

I'll be darned.... soon we'll be able to buy lingerie for the car ! (See through; ahem...)

I've heard of these things for almost 10 years now. The transition to market seems to be painful. Lots of potential though....

I think they have no side wall to show the insides. Ive seen these for years. To bad for the track goers on street tires (if these were ever made as a standard of course)

New type tire

Has anyone seen the new Michelin see throught tire? Its made here in American.
1. You can see throught it.
2. No air
3. No valve stems
Its wild. Lord only knows how much there are going to be. It looks like the tread is mounted to little rods that connect to the part that is mounted to the rim. Its wild.
And for the bad guys, spike strips will not make the tire go flat.
See ya down the road
