Are they for sale yet? There was a post on here awhile back they were testing tires like this. Have not seen anything in the trade magazine that they are out yet. I think that pic. sindy was from that post ..

Boy, I agree with you there! I would add BUTT Ugly to that description!
Nobody puts tires that look like they are made for a bicycle on their car! I hope we never come down to that...

They look like fins (more than rods) that are the flexible area between the rim and tread. It must be made of a hard rubber or urethane of some sort...

where do i sign up?

and there is no way to adjust. i'll test em if they give me a set. looks like not much to stop it from bending/breaking a rim. i used to be a tire changer, was my job- i wonder how they are mounted? Timberland should start making tires , i have never wore out a pair , and i'm very rough on shoes.

The rods are the same material as the tread - a type of rubber.

Nothing new here. They've been playing with this technology for at least 10 or 15 years that I know of. The potential is there. When you think about the number that don't bother to check tire pressures (we see 'em every day!), plus this could eliminate the need for a spare tire and it's weight and space requirements.

My only question is: How the heck to you fill 'em with NITROGEN ???
