Windows 10, Chrome and pop up blocker on here. I haven't seen any of these ads or else that others are talking about. Only issue I saw was when they did the site update 4-5 nights ago.
Even then, it was just a matter of recent posts not being posted and up to date for several hours.
I think that some of these issues are going to be a members personal OS is not meshing with the update.

Fwiw. I had an issue several years back where some of my settings got changed after a site update.
Oldblue could probably point you to those settings in your member profile ( I can't remember where it is )
Wouldn't hurt to check it.

 

I’m thinking reboot should resolve it.

I did follow RJ's advice about deleting Browser history, that day.

 

I did what OleBlue and Sleeper did still had the issue.
Moved from this site to something else and got back to this forum and the problem hasn't happened again.
