Anyone have/had Magic Jack?
#22
i've had mine for about a week now. i did have a cordless phone hooked up to it. when i would call to different states, different things would happen. to ca, my volume would change alittle. to kansas, there would be a pop sound when i started to talk. to nevada, sounded like i was in a well. i went a got a cheap corded phone, $9.00. now, no problems at all. i was paying $59.99 a month, now $59.99 for 5 years. i think its a no brainer! i going to costa rica and panama this september. i can call back to the us for free, what a deal, huh? later, paul.

i have one
i rarely use it. it's sounds wierd. i dont like it sticking out of my laptop, along with the cord. i believe it is a good deal. but what about skype , or oovoo ? aren't they free? does anyone have these ? and how do you like? my thinking was that i could take my latop in my vehicle , find a hotspot and talk for free , save my cell minutes. i'm just scared i'm gonna break it off , since it sticks out the side of my laptop with a phone wire connected also. if you disconect from the phone co , you still need an isp. i been considering roadrunner for $19 mo. i have fta sat. you can use a cell for 911, you may just have to tell them your location. which is good idea anyway. we called about a fire , they just rode right by the smoke , fire , address and all.

With my travel, I have to enter the address for the motel I am at, that registers the phone with the 911 area. No problems with mine. It does not work with dial up but works good with slower DSL and great if you have a faster speed. I use mine for the business and am connected from everywhere in the US and Canada. I give it a 2 up.
But if you are talking a 5 thumb scale.. I give it a 4 up.
