As you are finding out, life is expensive.

Yes Life is Expensive. Right now we are looking Way West (Rockford area) where rent is much cheaper. Im not living separate either for that much longer. Reason were trying find a Apt. Kick is Just tired of living with the Parents. Not to mention the wedding is Next Sept. Wish we could pay off both Car's we just replaced her old car that was falling apart of course that one was paid for. As far as Higher paying jobs it would be Second Jobs. She is also still applying for Jobs that she went to school for which in today economy Easier said then done. Im making pretty good money for the logistics Industry. Every where else they want to start u at 10 Bucks or So.I work Mid-Shift 11am-730pm. Therefore i can only get something that is from 10pm-3am or something like that.

We might just stay with the parents untill at least January. Then We will know Exactly what her loans will be and have paided off or at least paided Down the the Credit Cards. However we still have the wedding to pay off. Unless we scrap it and go to the Court House. Which would kinda suck but if thats what it takes.

Regarding wedding cost, a lot of folks are doing a very sensible re-think on the crazy expenditures some people think are 'expected" of them. Keep it simple, save money for what will really count in the future, or at least spend the money on a nice honeymoon instead of a ridiculoulsly expensive wedding extravaganza. (Said from 27 years of wedded bliss and 4 people at our ceremony).

From your description, The two of you are not bankrupt. YOU just WANT to spend more than you make. Federal guaranteed loans cannot typically be written off. Think long and hard before choosing that route. It can cause pain for a long time.

The only way you can get out of paying your student loans is either permanent total disability, death, or loans received that were not intended for usage to fund higher education. You can declare bankruptcy on your credit cards but say goodbye to your plans to buy a house or new cars for at least seven years. If you declare Chapter 7, the court may require you to give up the cars you have now, too.

If things are really that tight, look into credit counseling and tighten the belt.
