Apple has recently upsetted me

Hello All,

For my birthday last month i've asked my girlfriend to buy me a new Apple Itouch. There are features that were not on it that were on the iphone. Which is very similar expect the no camera and phone feature. So recently Apple annoucned they would include those features for for free for anyone who buys a new iphone on 1/15/08 or after. But for those like myself who bought the product prior to that have to now pay $20.00 for that update. Which is really not fair. As a consumer I feel cheated. I'm very upset upon how greedy Apple has become. Look what they did with the iphone. Less then 3 months later they dropped the 4 gig device and lowered the price by $200.00 then becasue people compalined they had to issue out $100.00 credits. I've also made a video blog (Spoof of Steve jobs by creating a character called Evil Mike Jobs) I plan to post my video anywhere online where people are complaing about this new upgrade that comes with a cost. Sites like digg has over 500 comments of people complaing about the price.

Hope you enjoy my video and my rant on this post. Please feel free to comment.

You're mad at Apple's price fixing? That is nothing new. They've been overcharging since day one.

They've always pissed me off. I can't seem to get on an Apple computer without breaking it! And they're supposed to be easy to use. I fried a $3,000 MacBook by clicking "yes" on a system update. That has never happened to me on a PC.

Don't even get me started on the absurdity of having to update iTunes every other week @ 70 megs a download & 10 minutes to install...

Apple is still a great company and is miles ahead of any one else in the game... first mod I did on my HHR was put on the apple logo in the back window.

Its funny how they can get away with this. I've only had my ipod touch for a little over a month. It should of came with the same or simlar applications for the iphone. They iphone users dont have to pay for there software upgrades but yet the ipod touch users do. The logic is not right.

i see it as you bought a product for a certain price. after that purchase, the company has developed new technology and is now selling it. new technology is always creating newer and cooler stuff. yea it sucks that it came out shortly after you bought yours. but you probably should be happy that those updates are available for your iTouch, even at $20 - which really isn't that much. besides, you don't have to buy the updates.

Wait until you need to send it back to them to replace the battery at $90+. Just like the Ipod.

You can change the iPod batteries yourself. There are kits with tools available from third party suppliers to do it.

If they changed the hardware and it did something different that was non-softwear realted or if it had the camara feature then I would not have been upset. If you look at one article from Digg about the price update there are over 500 comments and its mostly about people complaing how they are charging for features that come with the similar device. I am happy with the product.
