Barrett Jackson 1951 Panel
#11
Most "panels" were two door without side windows. Rear Windows were kinda 50/50 it seems. It's fairly rare to find one with windows. Unless it's not stock.

I saw the little pic Sindy had posted, intrigued, went to the site, disappointed...
GM was/is planning a panel HHR. Will it have windows, 50/50 ? I don`t think so.
I don`t think the truck in this article is a panel.. (2) doors or not.

The thing that trips me out about Barrett-Jackson is the odd price scale that the cars seem to fetch. Like oldschoolfreak pointed out you have nice clones selling for way more than they're worth but you have high end exotics selling for way less than they're worth. I vowed if I ever have a midlife crisis and buy a Ferrari it's definitely coming from Barrett-Jackson because I'm probably going to get one hell of a steal.

Hey CH, you're right about the B-J auction and being able to get some exotics at incredible prices. I watch the auction and the re-runs quite a bit. It seems as though the crowd that it draws doesn't appreciate the European exotics and that is why they sell so cheap. Many of the people there are muscle car buyers. These people don't know anything about classic gullwings or porsches, bentleys and silver clouds.
It seems like 75% or more of the cars involved are muscle cars and other classic domestics. Sometimes I see european classics go across the block and I shudder at the price they go for, it makes me wonder why the owners sell them no reserve.
It takes a special kind of person to have a real passion and appreciation for the old European customs.
