For the guys in Canada....BC, etc.
Do you know anything about a computer system the BC police are using that is mounted in the police vehicles? It electronically recognizes stolen and "wanted" vehicles with some type of covert camera systems. Then gives an audible warning to the user when it recognizes a plate on the highway, parked at the side of the rode, in a parking lot. It is called the ARPL, I believe.
It is the neatest thing.
For reference, I have a Microsoft Wave file on its use, but the download file rules system will not allow me to post it.

I heard and have seen video on that sort of system, I do not know anything about it being used in BC but they were using it in Ontario (greater Toronto area.)
They were showing the system on Discovery Channel on Daily Planet, the science type news show.
They were showing the car driving down car lined streets and picking out marked plates, it was interesting for sure.
