!973 SpringNationals in Columbus Ohio.
A crazy dragster, called the Pollution Packer.
It was a rocket powered exhibition car.
Because of alot of downtime, between rounds, the NHRA, had exhibition
vehicles,make 1/4 mile passes.
This thing went 4.99 @ 322 MPH
Everyone in the stands, were in shock..., & looking around saying, WTF was that,
& was the timing equipment, working correctly, (it was)...
Top Fuel, at that time, were in the low 6s @ 240s MPH
It would take almost 20 years, before a Top Fuel dragster, would break into the 4s
And maybe over 25 more years to go 322 MPH

My 2nd favorite would be of Wild Willie Borsch, driving the Winged Express Fuel Altered,
at my track, PID, during a match race, in 1972, I think.
I was in the staging lanes, right behind the starting line, in my 1969 Charger R/T.
I got out of my car, & went to the front, of the lanes, to see the pair run.
I was looking at his run, all the way down the track, as he put down two very dark, & very wide,
tire tracks, the whole 1/4 mile !!! I never thought, that it was possible, to do that….
What made it crazy, was that he always drove with his left arm, on top of,
the door, as he would drive, with just his right arm...
