Wonder why I cant push a block wall and Im 99% water freezing in the winter...LOL
I sat down and read up on the mower. Manual says nothing about first oil change but dealer said 10 hours for the first, then once a year ( manual says every 100 hours oil and 200 hours for filter ) its $30 for the kit ( oil and filter ) so I will just do them both at the same time anyways otherwise Ill collect a lot of filters...LOL or if I go with a better oil then it may be cheaper but that's something to look into ? But dealer said I don't need to drag it in every year ( only if it needs some sort of adjustments or problems ) otherwise just keep it lubed and watch for any issues. so Im like, should I drag it in anyways for the 3 years of warranty ? The dealer is really cool so he wont take advantage of anyone ( ive been going there for years for parts and all ) I have no problems doing stuff myself, But questions come up like should I buy and use their " special" oil kit specifically for the brand or could I go full synthetic with a better oil that wont break down under the heavy loads of cutting and heat? hmmmm as I don't see anything saying to use that specifically?

I sat down and read up on the mower. Manual says nothing about first oil change but dealer said 10 hours for the first, The Kaw manual should state that. But you do need to get that Break-in oil out by 10 hours.
I have to re-check my books. then once a year That's it.
( manual says every 100 hours oil and 200 hours for filter ) I personally called Kawasaki & spoke to a tech about this exactly, & he stated that would be for commercial use only. For our use, 1x a year, no matter the hours, or @ 50 hours..

its $30 for the kit ( oil and filter ) Wow !! That's pricey. so I will just do them both at the same time anyways otherwise Ill collect a lot of filters...LOL I would share what oil I use, but you're under warranty for 3 yrs on the engine. Best to use their labeled oil & filters for now. or if I go with a better oil then it may be cheaper but that's something to look into ? But dealer said I don't need to drag it in every year ( only if it needs some sort of adjustments or problems ) & the Dealer will want to see a Kaw a oil filter on it. I know if you had a warranty issue Kaw headquarters will want to know this. otherwise just keep it lubed and watch for any issues. That's what I did. so Im like, should I drag it in anyways for the 3 years of warranty ? Up to you, but if they do anything other than warranty, you'll need to get in your wallet. The dealer is really cool so he wont take advantage of anyone ( ive been going there for years for parts and all ) Sounds good. But I'd suggest playing it safe. Your dealer does not make the warranty calls, they have to contact Big Kaw. & see what they say. I have no problems doing stuff myself, Good, it is easy to service.
But questions come up like should I buy and use their " special" oil kit specifically for the brand That's what Kaw wants, cause they make money off their labeled oils & filters. or could I go full synthetic I would not go Full Syn till after 50 hours, to get the rings broke in properly. with a better oil that wont break down under the heavy loads of cutting and heat? Their oil is not gonna break down, they had it made by an oil producer to meet their specs.
hmmmm as I don't see anything saying to use that specifically? You won't read that in Kaw literature, cause they do not have it made, so they make no money on it. ..

I will be buying their oil from the dealer where I bought it so I will have receipts of purchase/timeframe/proof that its being done and could even throw it on the Cub card so theres no denying it lol. Dealer was great, they filled out and turned in all warranty papers before delivery so I didn't have to mess with it, Just sign and go. But I will take date stamped pics of the oil change with hour meter readings as well as further proof of all work done under warranty. so far Ive only clocked 1.7 hours after cutting and playing a bit on it. Hopefully the grass will be ready again this weekend to have some more fun... wee lol

Good to hear. Make a folder to save all paperwork & receipts for yer Z & Redmax. I make a new file for every new toy I get. Dealer was great, they filled out and turned in all warranty papers before delivery so I didn't have to mess with it, They should do that. That's their job.. Just sign and go. Hopefully you will not need anything, mine didn't. so far Ive only clocked 1.7 hours after cutting and playing a bit on it. That's not much. Cool how much faster you can get it done beautifully. Hopefully the grass will be ready again this weekend to have some more fun... wee lol I hear ya, I'll be on mine, I know that..

Yep, the dealer said it would cut my time in half and it did, even after I trimmed first ( when I never did before, I still got it done in half the time. 2 hours was a long time to be out in the heat ( which I don't mind ) but when its blazing in the 100's is when I want to get done But I don't know, with this new ZT I may want to just play around, spin some circles, who knows? LOL
