Cyclists: Post pics of your steeds
#31
I guess if you are using you bike on the streets you need to be safe. But, if your bike is used for trail riding, cross country riding or racing then removing those extra ounces makes sense. I guess it all comes down to how you use your bike and how extreme you really are.

I made mine into a hybrid as well. I have another wheelset that I use for road and paved trails.
I use my Rinolights w/ XT hubs and panaracer fireX pro tires for off road.
For the street and paved paths I run my WTB setup W/ Michelin Transworld City Tire.
One of the best things of this tire is the fact that the entire side wall is coated with a strip of 3M, reflective material.

I don’t like reflectors as well…

Reflectors are for losers!
I take them off of every one of my bikes as soon as I get them to the house. If I know a ride is going to go into the hours of darkness, I hook up some lights. Far superior to any reflectors.
Now, prepare to be inundated with photos of my bikes. Cycling is my Passion!

My Surly 1X1.
I also have an old Shogun roadie that I built up, but don't seem to have any pictures of that I can link to.
My wife has a Fuel, and a Trek 920 MTB, and we just recently upgraded her ride.

Her maiden trip on the Ruby comp.
Hell, I have enough parts laying around in the garage to build up two complete road bikes.
I just had the local bike shop order me up a rear wheel with a flip-flop hub so that I can turn the Shogun into a fixed gear/SS roadie.
And finally, from the photos, can you tell why I use the name "Frozenspokes"?

i now ride a schwinn voyageur hybrid and my wife has a schwinn sierra comfort bike.
My mountain bike is in a few pieces in the attic, don't ride it much anymore. The hybrid is perfect for the way i ride around here. On the road and trails. It has 700c tires so they're a bit larger and skinnier and ride on the road great, but they still can take a rough trail and has shocks. Perfect all around combo for me
just got my hitch and rack on this weekend, so now i can finally transport them
