Dude,you do not want to see my bike,but let's just say it's almost identical halfpanel08's bike only blue and about the same price.I got it at Wal-Mart but I've had it since 2004 and only put a new seat on it.And this thing has seen some pretty hard trails and endurance riding.I love my $100 Bike !! I used to race BMX in high school and had over $850 invested in a bike and this was back in 84'.They've come a long way since the Huffy's of the day !!!

 

I used to race and do triathlon's while going to college and just after. I didn't even drive my car but once or twice a month. Rode every were I went, no matter how hot, cold or rainy the weather. Man I miss those days. I still ride but no more than 1000 miles a year. In the old days I did 10 times that amount. Marriage, kids and life has gotten in the way the last 10 years. Now i'm just a fat slow guy on the bike. OUCH!!!! That hurts saying that. But it's true.

Bikes:
1999 Titanium Eddy Mercks (Built by Lightspeed) with all Sram Red components. Good comfy bike to ride. Not like today's Carbon ones which are a good bit stiffer and harsh riding.

1985 Guerciotti race bike with all Campy Super Record components. I raced this bike in college and I would guess it has atthe very least 50 thousand miles on it. I haven't ridden it in 3 or 4 years though. I'll never part with it.

1979 Bob Jackson. I bought this from a friend and road it as a fixed gear bike to college for 3 years. My buddy probably had more miles on it than my Guerciotti does. No one would steal it cause of the fixed gear. They didn't know how to stop it. "No Brakes"

Specialized Stump Jumper. It's one of this first ever Mountain Bikes. Was state of the art in 1985. Now a cheap Wall Mart mountain bike puts it to shame. Still good for riding around the neighbor hood though. I need a new modern Mountain Bike. Someday maybe.

 

Picture of the $100 bike.Nothing fancy at all.I've ridden GT's,Haro's,Torkers Diamondbacks,Motobecanes,Redlines but the newer bikes just blow the old ones away as far as the components available and how much the bikes actually weigh.My BMX bike in 84' was about 20 pounds and that's nothing for the newer ones.

 

There are full suspension mountain bikes that weigh just a little over 20. Mine weighs 30 pounds, which is pretty impressive for a 6in. travel bike imo. I can't afford anything much lighter anyways lol.

Good to see this thread is still going. I love the HHR as a bike hauler. One of the main reasons that I got it was because I could put my bikes inside the car.

yeah, I can't get my bike in the hhr without taking way too much of it apart. I can get my wife's in, but what's the point if I can't get mine in there too. So i added a hitch and bike rack to the back a week ago.
