Seriously why did I leave my phone at home when I ran out for a minute?

Went out to grab a burrito for breakfast a little bit ago and as I pulled out of the drive thru I see a the front of a Miata with a wing peaking over the roofline. As I come around were I can see the side profile and rear of the car I see that the wing is actually coming off of the rear bumper.

Since I did not bring my phone with me to be able to take a pic I had to search Yahoo images to see if someone beat me to posting it. Looks like this is a common look for Miata's as I very quickly found several similar height wings and one that even had a similar type of off the bumper wing. Except the one I saw actually came off the vertical part of the rear bumper.

All I can say is OMG

I always thought those were push handles for when the tiny car gets stuck

I agree it looks dumb but if I'm not mistaken that is a drift car you have pictured...but I could be wrong

 

The one pictured is just an example I found for the wing. The one I saw was not that car.

While that probably is a track car I wouldn't think it is a drift car. But I am no racer so that is just my thoughts not actual knowledge. Although I have slept in a Motel 6 before

I will say that I have seen I believe on a show on speed channel a company that takes miatas and drops in, if i remember, a small v8 like a 302, and calls them monster miatas. that light of a car with a v8 in it should haul a$$.
just not my style.... too small of a car!

The car in the picture appears to have Hoosier r-comp tires. They are grippy like Spiderman, so that one is not going to be drifting. They are pricey, too!!! Most drifters I've seen don't buy pricey tires...
