Thanks to everyone for the kind words. We knew that we wouldn't be one of the ones cut. But you can't help but have that butterfly stomach feeling while you wait to here the news.

The GM dealer forum has a lot of posting going on, from employees of dealers that were notified that they will be terminated. I feel sorry for them and their families.

You know, that big blank space is just evil, thought for a second it was bad news. Our local dealer appears to be safe, and from what I have read some of the dealers closing sold as few as 35 GM cars per year! So sounds like a rational streamlining.

The dealer where I got my HHR lost it's Chevy Dealer status but is going to remain open for service and used car sales. It is a third generation business been open for 80+ years. Weird thing it sells vehicles that other dealers can't sell like my HHR had 116 miles when I bought it and came from dealer in Indiana.

Small Chevy dealership close to me is on the list. I bought my '00 S10 from them. Too bad -- they had a much better "attitude" in their service department than the larger dealer on the other side of me.

When looking for my '03 Impala, I went there first. When looking for my HHR, I went there first then, too. But they always had a really small selection and I found what I wanted elsewhere. I always stopped in periodically just to look around, and they never had a very impressive selection. Small dealership.
