That first VW reminds me of two friends that put a 394 Olds engine midship in it. Took the Olds rear and put that in also. These guys were very creative.

Had old beat down Monte Carlo, used to pour a bit of engine oil in front of tires & then power brake. Great for smoking the wheels off an otherwise tired 350... LOL
