Forum has been Dead.
I dont linger
I'm in front of a computer all day (and nobody is looking over my shoulder) so it's pretty easy for me to check in during the week. Not so much on weekends because I'm outside enjoying the time away from a desk job. Once I check the 'new posts' & 'Gallery' here & make a contribution (post/upload) or two I check out & go to other sites/forums & pretty much do the same thing. If the phone rings or I get an email I will log out as well (gotta get some work done
).
I think the addition of the HHR Facebook page will pull some away as well.
I've had my HHR since May 2009 & the newness has definately worn off (and I did not buy it new). When I first get a vehicle I am all over the mods & buying stuff for it but once it gets a few years old I start looking for something fresh. I've done this with all my cars, motorcycles, bicycles, etc. My '07 Panel is just about paid off now & I'm already itching for something different. If I do sell the HHR & get something different, I will not be coming back to this site & just hanging around (whats the point?). But I do like the fact that this site was here for me for this car! I dont know of too many other cars that have this cool of a website available to them. I think the uniqueness of vehicle strikes a chord with people & I love talking to people on the street about my Panel. Perhaps I can find a SS Panel & keep going with it but who knows?

I decided to jump on this morning...haven't been on in about 2 weeks. I've pretty much left the site due to the constant policing from some of the sr. members on the here. New folks jump on and ask questions and there are the select few that always makes sure to point out the search function rather than just telling them the information they ask. The search function is a pain to use and being new that's the last thing you generally want to check when you are looking for an answer...we've all been there before so give this folks a break...let the moderators do the policing on the site. A lot of the sr. members I guess are set in their ways and think they know all that should be known about everyone's wagon which is fine, but for a site that's supposed to be fun and supportive, it seems to be lacking in both.
i used to frequent the site every day, several times a day. it just seems like there is nothing going on here performance wise worth discussing imo. im into the performance aspect of my ss and thats about it. supporting vendors suck....seeing the same post about twm shifters 40 different times is just pointless. ttr is great, don't get me wrong but we need to have more than what we have. ttr, pyfc, twm....really?? then we talk about another product from xxxxxxxx company and posts get deleted, threads get locked.....it really gets old. i had tried to get a company to build a pillar pod a couple years back.....started a thread to gauge interest....thread was locked......this is how it should work: thread started to gauge interest...interest gets determined, by say needing to get 20 pieces to get the project started, people sign up, success is determined, now vendor pays to be a supporting vendor because they know it will be worth while and they will make money off the site. no vendor is going to just pay money blindly if they dont know whether there will be interest in a product that doesn't even exist yet. so now to this date (this was back in summer of 09) there are no gauge pods for the hhr. am i butthurt about it? no. i came up with my own solution much like many of the mods i have performed. i have customised my ic, intake, guage pod, several things to make them work on my platform. but it helps to have the resources out there to make things a little easier.
yes people will come and go, someone will sell the hhr and never return. if i sell mine, i won't be back....no reason to return. but then again i don't plan on getting rid of it for a..............wait..........ever

Personally, I tend to read more than contribute, but as an engineer, there are lots of things I take as givens regarding vehicles that I can explain, or caution someone about. I'm at a tube all day, too, but my "real work" allows some time for things like this, too. When I run studies in the background, I am still adding value to my employer (like now, when I'm working on stuff for the next-gen Equinox/Terrain as I type). It's easy to pop in and read, but harder to contribute some great new thread.
